Mike Pressgrove

PRESIDENT

Mike’s career is truly remarkable, with over 40 years of experience and a track record of leadership and excellence in the construction and remodeling industry. His hands-on expertise, combined with his leadership roles, speaks to his commitment to quality and industry advancement. Being recognized as National Remodeler of the Month by Qualified Remodeler Magazine in 2013 is a huge accomplishment, and his tenure in key leadership positions—such as the 2024 Chairman of the NAHB Remodelers Council. In 2006, Mike was the Council Chairman for Topeka Professional Remodelers Council, and in 2010 Mike was the Chairman for the Topeka Home Builders Association. Mike was also the President of the Kansas Building Industry Association in 2014. This all demonstrates his influence and respect within the industry. Mike’s National designations and certifications include Graduate Master Remodeler, Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist, Certified Graduate Remodeler, and Certified Green Professional. His dedication shows that he’s not only highly skilled but also determined to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in remodeling. His wealth of experience and commitment to his craft make him an invaluable resource for PDQ and its clients. It’s also clear that Mike has a deep passion for the work he does, given the leadership roles he continues to hold at the national and local level. His combination of technical skill, industry leadership, and commitment to professional development is truly inspiring.


Bobby Miller

ESTIMATOR

Bobby’s impressive 43 years in the business truly makes him a cornerstone of the PDQ team. His extensive background as both a carpenter and an estimator give him a unique, well-rounded perspective on every project. With such a rich combination of hands-on and managerial experience, Bobby is in a prime position to offer insightful solutions and ensure every aspect of a project—from estimating to material ordering to crew oversight—runs smoothly. His energy and problem-solving approach are great assets for clients looking for tailored, effective solutions. Bobby balances his work with some fun, like cheering on the Chiefs and Jayhawks, traveling with his wife, and enjoying family time. His passion for life and his work seems to shine through in everything he does.


Jeff Starkey

ESTIMATOR

Jeff's wealth of experience and deep understanding of construction really shines through in his role as Estimator. With over 38 years in the industry, he brings a comprehensive skill set to PDQ, making him a valuable resource for any project, whether it's new construction, commercial work, or remodeling. His hands-on experience in everything from framing to welding to carpentry gives him a practical perspective that ensures projects are estimated accurately and efficiently. It sounds like he’s also built a great balance between his professional life and personal passions—his outdoor hobbies are a nice reflection of his grounded and active lifestyle. Jeff enjoys going hunting, fishing, or golfing. Plus, Jeff is a proud father with three daughters and seven grandchildren.


Marsha Schmitt

ESTIMATOR & DESIGN

With over five years at PDQ Construction and more than 20 years in the construction industry, Marsha brings extensive experience and a passion for design to every project. Her background in new construction and custom homes, combined with her expertise as a lead painter and former paint contractor, has made her a go-to professional for many homeowners in Topeka, Lawrence, and Junction City. Marsha specializes in helping clients transform their interiors, particularly kitchens and bathrooms, with her keen eye for color, design, and functionality. She also provides estimates for exterior projects, including decks and windows. Whether it’s giving a space a fresh new look or finding creative solutions to enhance both form and function, Marsha thrives on bringing new life to every project. A graduate of Emporia State University, Marsha also holds a master’s degree from the University of Kansas. She and her husband, Casey, have two children and have made Topeka their home. When she’s not busy with school activities and sports games, Marsha enjoys cheering on the Kansas City Royals, the Kansas City Chiefs, and all things KU Athletics.


Payton Summers

INTERIOR DESIGNER

Payton is the newest addition to the PDQ team, bringing a unique blend of interior design expertise and hands-on construction experience. With over six years of experience in new construction and remodeling, Payton is well-versed in both the creative and practical aspects of designing beautiful, functional spaces. She holds a bachelor's degree in interior design and has worked extensively in both design and construction, which allows her to seamlessly bridge the gap between aesthetic vision and real-world execution. Passionate about building strong relationships with homeowners, Payton is committed to guiding clients through every step of the design process, helping them make informed decisions that reflect their personal style and needs. Her ability to balance creativity with practicality ensures that each space she designs is not only visually appealing but also livable and feasible. Outside of work, Payton enjoys experimenting with new recipes, reading, and spending time with her dog, Dixie. With her approachability, creativity, and experience, she’s excited to help clients create spaces they’ll love for years to come.


Janelle Miller

OFFICE MANAGER

Janelle Miller, affectionately known in the office as "Mamma Miller," has been the heart and soul of PDQ for over 15 years. As the office manager, Janelle is a constant source of support, warmth, and guidance for the entire team. With her kind and nurturing nature, she goes above and beyond to ensure that everyone feels cared for—like family. Her dedication to making the office a positive, welcoming environment has earned her the admiration and love of her colleagues, who often turn to her not just for professional support, but for a kind word and a listening ear. Janelle’s exceptional organizational skills are matched only by her big heart, making her an indispensable part of the PDQ family. When she's not at work, Janelle loves spending time with her husband, Bobby, and their three kids, as well as their adorable fur baby, Charlie, and grandpups. A true Kansas City fan, Janelle is always cheering for the Jayhawks and the Chiefs, bringing her spirited energy from the office to the stands!


Sierra Repp

OFFICE ASSISTANT

Sierra has been a dedicated Office Assistant at PDQ Construction for over five years. She began her career as an intern in high school through the Topeka Area Building Association’s Student Chapter and transitioned into a full-time position after completing her internship. Sierra plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the office, known for her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Her contributions are crucial to the efficiency of the team. Outside of work, Sierra enjoys spending time with her husband and their two dogs and her bunny, embracing the joys of being a pet parent. Her love for animals, combined with her commitment to her work, makes her a well-rounded and valued member of both her professional and personal circles.
